The training course "Erasmus+ Going Virtual – Online Methods for Youth Workers" focuses on developing innovative digital youth work practices, particularly for supporting young people at risk of social exclusion during crisis situations.

About the Event

The project brings together youth workers from different countries to explore practical online methods that create safe spaces for young people to share experiences and express their emotions.

Participants learn about modern digital youth work tools, strengthen their skills in promoting social inclusion, and exchange good practices for working with vulnerable youth groups. The training also encourages intercultural dialogue between participants from EU and partner countries while supporting self-reflection on the needs of disadvantaged young people.

Activities & Highlights

  • Digital storytelling workshop — participants created short videos about their communities
  • Online safety simulation — exploring misinformation, privacy, and digital rights
  • Social media for activism — how to use platforms for positive change
  • Intercultural evenings — each country shared food, music, and traditions
  • Closing presentation — groups presented their digital projects to local youth workers

Impact & Outcomes

The training course had a significant impact on participants who work with vulnerable young individuals. They acquired a valuable digital youth work methodology applicable in future projects, particularly during times of crisis and limited face-to-face communication.

Participants exchanged knowledge with peers from Program and EECA countries, improving intercultural communication skills and capacity for future international activities. The project produced online methods, articles on working with vulnerable youth online, a Toolbox on Google Drive, the Erasmus+ Going Virtual Framework, and an educational video. 34 youth workers now act as ambassadors of the project results.

"This was the first time I felt truly at home in a group of people from different countries. The digital workshops changed how I think about my phone and social media." — Oliwia, Poland
